Junior, Teen & Adult Belt Testing

June 2026

You’ve put in the work. Now it’s time to prove it.

Testing isn’t just a formality.

It’s the moment where everything you’ve been drilling, practicing, and pushing through in class gets put on display. It’s where you find out what you’re really made of.

This is your moment. Here’s everything you need to know to show up ready.

What Is Belt Testing?

Belt testing is the formal evaluation where students demonstrate the curriculum, techniques, and skills they’ve developed since their last promotion.

It’s a challenge. It’s supposed to be. And that’s exactly what makes earning that new belt mean something.

This cycle’s testing takes place at the Lewisville Convention Center, a full formal testing event where students from all ranks come together to test side by side. Come ready to perform your best.

Testing Details

📅 Date: Saturday, June 13th

📍 Location: Lewisville Convention Center
785 State Highway 121, Lewisville, TX 75067

Exact group times will be posted and sent via email the Thursday before testing.

Approximate timeframes by rank:

🕗 Early Morning — Black Belts

🕘 Morning — Brown & Red Belts

🕙 Mid to Late Morning — Green, Purple & Blue Belts

🕑 Afternoon — White, Yellow & Orange Belts

Who Can Test?

To be eligible for testing, students must have earned the following stripes or anticipate earning them before testing:

🥋 Juniors: 4 Black Stripes and 2 Blue Stripes

🥋 Brown Belts and Above: May register and test without the second blue stripe for board breaking

Not sure if you’re ready?

Ask me. I’ll give you an honest answer and help you figure out the best path forward.

New Students:

If you or your child recently joined and won’t have all their stripes in time, don’t stress. We can work with you to build a plan, whether that’s helping earn stripes before testing or arranging a late testing to give you just a bit more time.

Reach out to Mr. DeBerardinis and we’ll figure it out together.

Testing Results: Pass / Fail

How do I know if I passed?

No-news is good news! If you don’t hear anything by the Monday following testing, you know you passed.

To pass, students MUST get a passing grade in ALL AREAS of their belt testing.

If you’re testing didn’t go as well as we’d have hoped, that’s okay! Failing a belt testing is an inevitable part of the taekwondo journey. It teaches resilience and perseverance, crucial skills for growing up!

Remember! It’s considered bad manners in Taekwondo to ask about your testing results. If you didn’t pass, we’ll reach out to you.

The Award Ceremony

This is the best part.

Students who pass their belt testing will receive their new belts at the Award Ceremony. It’s a moment worth celebrating and we want your whole family there for it.

📅 Date: Tuesday, June 16th

Time: 6:00pm

📍 Location: Tarrant Elite Taekwondo
